The whole telephone system at Binds was out of order and telephones and lighting disorganised in Ashburton borough. JAGGED LUMPS OF ICE DUNEDIN, Feb. 11. A severe hailstorm is reported from Cromwell. Although of only short duration, the hail fell with considerable violence. Hailstones the size of small marbles and shaped like jagged pieces of ice bounced to a height of two feet off the ground. Torrential rain, accompanied by thunder, fell for half an hour. __________________
