King George Memorial Fund Passes Half Million Mark

(British Official Wireless.) Received Thursday, 9.20 p.m. RUGBY, Feb. 11. The Lord Mayor's fund for a national memorial to King George V now amounts to £532,659 not taking into account gifts of land of an estimated value of more than £IOO,OOO. From the beginning of the recent scheme whereunder owners of banking accounts were invited to transfer odd shillings and pence from their accounts to the memorial fund a sum of £196,000 has been added to the fund. Of thi* total £95,686 was tho product of bankers' coupons. Contributions are still being received.
