Motorists’ Thanks
CHEQUE HANDED TO NAPIER HIGH SCHOOL As a result of the granting of pet mission to use the boarding-hostel and classrooms of the Napier Boys’ High School to provide accommodation for motorists during the heavy rain at the New Year holiday period, the custodian of the Napier motor camp, Mr. J. J. Lowry, has handed to the Automobile Association (Hawke’s Bay) a cheque for £5 ss. This is to be presented to some section of the school’s activities to be decided upon by the Napier Secondary Education Board. At the meeting of the association the secrotary, Mr. R. M. Chadwick, reported that all the motorists accommodated at the school had expressed keen appreciation of the hospitality, and that all had co-operated in an endeavour to repay the kindness by assisting to clean the portions of the building they had been allowed to occupy. While members at the mooting expressed the opinion that the money should be expended in sporting funds, the matter was left to the chairman, Mr. J. H. Edmundson, who is also a member of the Napier Secondary Education Board, to decide with the board.
