The annual tournament of the Wellington Croquet Association opened on Tuesday in beautiful weather. On *,hat day in the handicap doubles, Aiesdames Piper and Hadwin beat Mesdames Bush and Aloxon (Palmerston North), 26—22. Playing in the handicap doubles on Wednesday, Alesdaines Leo and Anderson, of Palmerston North, beat Mesdames Bradley and Marshall, 26 —25. Mrs Aloxon, of Palmerston North, beat Airs Mitchell, 26—24, in the level singles.
