From Our Own Correspondent Tennis The Guy Cup tennis competition was carried a step further on Saturday when A. and B. teams from Halcombe played the Cheltenham teams. In the A grade match played at Cheltenham, the home team had no difficulty in defeating the j visitors, who owing to the harvesting op- ! erations were well below their usual strength. Roger, and his wife, have returned to Halcomb© after a holiday spent in the North.
The fine weather prevailing made last week a very busy time for farmers in this district. Labour was eagerly sought after to get In hay. grass-Reed or wheat, and many farmers must have been greatly relieved to see the sheets finally fastened over the stacks after so many
weeks of uncertain weather. In the case of the larger crops such as wheat, much work still remains to be done.
