Increase in Shooting And Fishing Licences
TO INCREASE EFFICIENCY IN RANGING Per Press Association. ROTORUA, Feb. 10. Replying to a deputation from tho Rotorua Rod and Gun Club, which waited upon him last evening, the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parry, said that his department had taken steps to protect fish and game but in return for the extra service required licence-holders must be prepared to pay a little more for their sport. Fishing and shooting In the Dominion, he said, were the cheapest in the world and he did not think sportsmen could cavil at a slight increase. He was prepared to go to greater lengths than perhaps even sportsmen realised to protect fishing and shooting in tho Dominion. In return for the department’s work, however, he appealed to sportsmen generally to co-operate in bringing about more effective ranging.
