Link With World’s Earliest History

TOMB OF FIRST EGYPTIAN DYNASTY.

United Press Association—By Electrlo Telegraph.—Copyright.

Received Wednesday, 9.50 p.m. CAIRO, Feb. 10. Still another link with the world’s earliest history has been unearthed at Sakkara by Walter Emery, the British archaeologist, who excavated a tomb containing the only body of the first dynasty yet found, namely Sabu, provincial Governor under King Azab, the fifth ruler of the first dynasty. The tomb, dating approximately to 3200 8.0., had been plundered by ancient robbers, but the body was found at the bottom of a burial pit. Nearby was a broken schist vase sculptured from a solid block of slate and probably the finest known example of the work of the old kingdom. The excavators sifted sand for a week in their search for pieces of the vase. It is now restored and 13 exhibited in the Cairo Museum. A large collection of stone vessels was also found, Six boxes containing wine and food, sustenance for Sabu’s spirit, were grouped around the body.
