Vice-Regal Visit to Feilding
LORD GALWAY’S APPRECIATION Yesterday, the Mayor of Feilding (Mr T. Collins) received the following letter , from Major A. Purvis, Military Secretary to His Excellency the GovernorGeneral, Lord Galway, relative to his Excellency’s recent visit to the town: — “The Governor-General has desired me to write and tell you how much he enjoyed his visit to Feilding and district, and his great pleasure at the kind welcome he received from yourself, the Councillors and citizens.
‘‘His Excellency was most interested in all that he saw during his visit to the stock yards and the Makino dairy faci tory, and has expressed his pleasure at the excellent arrangements you made for enabling him to do this and to be able, in the short time available, to get such a good impression of the really wonderful work that has been accomi plished by the original settlers and their successors in the Feilding district. “It is His Excellency’s hope that tfao history of Feilding may continue to be 1 marked by steady progress and ever ■ greater prosperity and happiness of its I citizens.
