Australian Farmers Visit Manawatu

TOUR or INSPECTION. Starting on a tour of New Zealand, a party of Australian primary producers, travelling in two special buses, arrived at Palmerston North yesterday from Wellington. Arrangements were made, after they had taken luach, for them to pay a visit to Massey Agricultural College. Members of the party are:—From fciouth Australia: Messrs. A. G. Bennett, A. L. E. Spehr, J. M. Wray, R, P. Haynes, A. E. Blight, T. Oborn, J. W. Bourn, A. E. Sheidow, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Ness, Messrs. A. J. Vigar, JJ. It. Marsh, G. R. Bundle, G. R. Davidson, Bedsman. Victoria: Mr. F. T. Clifford, Mr. and Mrs. G. Trewin, Mr. R. Wills, Mr. and Mrs. W. Coutts, Mr. D. G. Coutts. New South Wales: Mr. G. McAllister. Western Australia: Airs. A. M. Francis. Mr. W. Coutts is leader and Mr. A. Spehr deputy-leader. Mrs. Francis represents the women. The party is being conducted on the tour by Mr. W. F. Swift, of the Tourist Department.

The party leaves this morning for Wanganui. They will inspect farm properties at Bulls en route. The trip to Palmerston North wus made in leisurely fashion, several stops baing made at suitable points to enable the visitors to view the countryside. Some of them expressed amazement with the grandeur of the coastline as seen from the top of Paekakariki hill.
