An English woman of outstanding personality, Miss Elizabeth Denby, who was the first woman to address the Koyal Institute of British Achitects and who has spent many years working on the problem of housing, has formed a new club in England. The Feathers Club, as this is called, has as its aim to cater not only for the people’s physical well-being, but also their cultural needs. The Feathers Club is a splendid institution, and the rich and poor meet there on equal terms. Large land owners like Lady Astor, Sir Philip Sassoon and the Duke of Westminster go there and chat happily with their tenants. There are several Fen \ Clubs now in various districts, and are all bright and efficient. The average daily attendance is about 50, and 300 meals are served daily to members and their families.
