From Our Own Correspondent General and Personal. Owing to this being one or the busiest seasons of the year, there Iwas a poor attendance of members at the fortnightly meeting of the Oddfellows’ Ix>dge held on Tuesday last, there being Just sufficient members present to transact the routine business and initiate one new member After the balance sheet had been read and found very satisfactory, supper was partaken of and tho meeting brought to a close. Tho friends of Mr and Mrs K. Beard will very much regret to learn that their house was burned on Wednesday night. Although there was an energetic bucket brigade, the efforts made were insufficient to overcome the flames, which had a good hold before the firo was dlscovOwing to tho spell of line weather n great deal of haymaking which has had to be postponed for ho long is now in rapid progress, there being large gangs of men at work pressing and stacking the well-ripened crons.
