AMONG THE LIONS.
"Perhaps you would bo interested to hear," writes Mrs. E. M. Lord of Raudfontein, South Africa, "of the splendid performance of our Morris Eight roadster on a trip through the Nation a! Game Reserve here. The roads are sand, and nothing liko the glorious highroads of England. Tho greatest excitement of our lives occurred there, when we met throe huge lions unexpectedly. Tho hood was up, fortunatoly, but no sidcscreens, and wo just had time to grab them as one brute approached us. Of courso, in the excitement we stalled the engine, and sat breathing very heavily as lie walked round us, sniffing hard, and then came around on the right and tried to chow tho front tyro. Wo started up again then, and tho sudden noise jnado him veer off. "At the end of the trip, wo went over the Barborton Pass, a climb of about 2000 feet of very steep going, most of llio way in second gear, and were thoroughly satisfied with the performance of tho car, particularly as added to the weight of my husband we were carrying camping gear."
