National Dancing Competitions

Miss June Scott, of 4 Ngata street, and pupils have had gratifying successes at recent national dancing competitions. At Turakina Miss Scott was urst in the New Zealand seantriubhas competition, second in the Highland reel and third in the sword dance (over 37 years). Miss Lucy Cronin was sec- * oud in the sword dance under 16 years. Miss Joan Lynch was first in the seantriubhas, second in the fling and second in the sword dance under 12 years. At Marton Miss Scott was first in the * Highland reel, first in the reel o' Tuilocu, second in the fling and second in tue sailor’s hornpipe. At Levin Miss »cott was first in the fling, first in the Irish jig and second in the sword dance. Master Claude Henderson second in the reel o' Tulloch and third in seantriubhas under 16 years; Shirley Henderson was Becond in the fling under 10, Uuth McDuwall second in fling and first in special fling under 8; Marie Hay was third in the fling under 8. At Wanganui Miss Scott was first in the Highland reel, second in the reel o' Tulloch championship, and third in the seantriubhas. Miss Joau Lynch was second lu the scantnubhas under 12. At Woodville Claude Henderson was first in the Irish jig aud third in the reel o’ TulJuch under 17; Shirley Henderson was first in the fling under 10, and Ray Baldwin third iu the sword dance under 12.
