PLANS FOR MARTARA.

NEXT RACE ST. LEGER AT TRENTHAM. Martara returned from Taranaki looking hearty and well and appearances suggest that he is none the worse for his recent racing. Sis trainer, George New, has recommended that Martara should be % given a spell and if present intentions are adhered to the son of Martarma and Taraheke will not be again raced until the Wellington St. Leger, which is run next month. Martara will also take on the Auckland St. Leger and the Awapuni Gold Cup and it is intended that his efforts until the end of the present season are to be confined to weight-for-age and classic races.
