A remarkably efficient home-made contrivance for the illegal catching of trout was discovered by the rangor for the Marlborough Acclimatisation Society during a visit he paid a few days ago to the Acheron Biver, near the headquarters of the Clarence, in the back country of the society’s district. The apparatus (says au exchange) consisted of an iron rod, to which was attached two springs, connected to prongs fitted crosswise to tho main rod. Tho idea, apparently, is to place tho apparatus gently down over a trout whilo it ie idling in stiil waters, and tho prongs which grip very fiercely, are automatically released by a trigger at the top, which operates immediately it is touched. DOWN ON THE FABM The farmer and his man were sneezing, and only four Fulmonaß left. “We will have two each,” said tho farmer. “We’ll suck them slowly and our colds Will go quickly. ” Result!—No more sneezing in the cowshodl Tins of Pulmonas cost 1/-, 3/6, 2/6 from Chemists and Storos. Nover be without Pulmonas!
