The Dannevirke Show
JJN IKJXjaJJAX Aau WJbUn&OVAX. EVENING ENTERTAINMENT. Preparations have been completed for die Dannevirke A. and P. Show, to bo held on the picturesque grounds in the borough on Tuesday and Wednesday, February 9th and 10th, and to be followed by the ram fair on Thursday. With record entries in the principal sections this year’s exhibition will be outstanding. There will be a magnificent display of horses, sheep, cattle and dogs, while other aspects of the show will be full of interest. This year the various sideshows—and there will be many and varied in attendance—will be accommodated in a new situation, which should bj an advantage to all, while the special sight programmes arranged will surpass mything yet attempted in this respect.
On Tuesday evening the Ruahine Pipe Band, 24 strong, in full regalia, fresh » from its recent success at the Welling ton-H.B. provincial competition at Pal merston North, will present «. fine programme, including a drum major's dis- ' play and test selections, and they are 1 worth going a long way to see und 1 hear. For Wednesday evening the fam- , ous Korangata Maori Choir from Hast- • ings, comprising 35 voices, will be responsible for the entertainment. The i prize-winning combination will submit popular part .songs which have made ' them famous, duets, quartettes, action i songs in costume, dances and hakas, and should prove an irresistible attraction. A big influx of visitors is expected and i there is every reason for anticipating that this year's show will be an out-.-tanding one in every respect. Competi- . tions and ring events on both days will result in keen rivalry as large entries have been received.
