They Detained the Vicar

How a vicar was inadvertently detained during a betting raid was told at Broxtou (Cheshire). Police officers raided the village post office at Hargrave on tho day of tho Cambridgeshire. While they made a search, all the callers, including the Vicar of Hargrave, Rev. S. G. A. Preston, and tho village schoolmistress, were detained. Sergeant Kettle said that while the search was in progress six children were detained. The schoolmistress came to take tiiem back to school and she was detained.
