Motorists Fined

yesterday morning before Mr J. Logan Stout, S.M., at the Eketahuna Courthouse there appeared David Hdtory Batcher charged with fishing in a stream for trout without a license. He was fined £2 and 10s costs. The next on the charge sheet was It. T. Gordon who met wit! an accident at Konini with his car in the early hours of the morning of December 25th. His counsel explained that his client was in a grocery business, and he and a friend were going away in his car for a few days holiday. Gordon had worked until near midnight at hiß business and by the time he had packed up luggage it was very early in the morning. At Konini his companion had gone to sleep and before long he himself had dosed. Then the car met with the accident. Counsel went on to say that the car was very badly knocked about and afterwards the accident had been reported to the police. Gordon was fined 40s and 10s costs. A youth was lined for not having a light on his bicycle after dark on two different occasions £1 and 22s costs. F. Lindergreen was charged with driving a car without a license and for knocking a little girl off her bicycle causing bodily harm. He was fined’ 10s and 12s costs for not having a license i>ut tha second charge was dismissed.
