There are to be no State grauls or subsidies towards tho cost of the erection of either memorials to tho late King George V or Coronation memorials for King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in any part of the Dominion. This decision has been made in conse quonco of tho GdVernment’s determina tion to create a fund for tho permanent establishment of children’s health camps as a national memorial to his late Alajesty. The Alinister of Internal Affairs, Hon. W. E. Parry, stated yesterday that the decision applied also to all requests for State assistance for the erection of local halls and in like undertakings ag Coronation memorials.
