PERSONALITIES
Professor B. J. Truscott, D.Bc., who arrived by the Tamaroa. He is Emeritus Professor of Mining at London University and examiner of mining for the University of New Zealand. Professor Truscott is on a round trip, and during his stay in the Dominion will confer with members of the New Zealand University Benate.
Dr. Elizabeth Gunn, schools medical officer at Wanganui, has been temporally transferred to Wellington, where she will be attached to headquarters of tho Health Department. The appointment is for two months. She leaves on Monday. A Sydney cable message states that Mr H. B. Bailey, chief secretary to tho Victorian Government, and his wife, sailed by the Awatea last night. Mr E. P. Kerry, conductor of the Randwick Municipal Band, was also a passenger. He is judging the band competitions at Nelson from February 15 to 20. Mr 11. C. Brent, telegraph engineer at Palmerston “North, who is being transferred on promotion to a similar position at Christchurch, was yesterday extended the best wishes of the Palmerston North Citizens’ Lunch Club for success in his new sphere.
