Dannevirke Stock Sale

Messrs. Williams and Kettle, Ltd., report having held their weekly stock sale on Thursday when they offered a big yarding of sheep, cattle uud pigs to a good attendance of the public. The sheep entry comprised chiefly lambs which again sold well. Ewe lambs met with a particularly good market. All prices were on a par with late market rates. Sheep: Account G. J. Gibson, Maharahara, 43 woolly ewe lambs, 30s; account W. T. Luxton, Akitio, 109 shorn wether lambs 18s Gd, 102 shorn wether lambs 18s 2d; account C. Derrick, Ti Tree Point, 109 shorn wether lambs 17s Bd, 98 b.f. lambs 20s 4d; account A. V. Galloway, Maharahara, 109 b.f. lambs 21s 4d; account W. Boydeu, Rua Roa, 24 2-tli wethers, 26s Gd. Other prices were: Fat ewes, 16s to 18s lOd; fat lambs, 235; woolly ewo lambs, 19s 9d to 275; shorn ewe lambs, 18s to 20s 7d; woolly wether lambs mod., 14s 3d; shorn wether lambs, J4s 3d to 17s 9d; b.f. lambs, med., 15s to 18s; small b.f. lambs, 8s 4d to 12s; small wether lambs, 7s to. 12s 6d. Cattle: Fat Jersey cows uud heifers, £3 11s to £4 ss; fat K.P. bullocks, £9 7s 6d; fat P.A. and llfd. cows, £6 to £3 18s; P.A. hfrs. r.w. bull, £7 10s; P.A. store cows, £6 ss; 18 mos. The New B Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report having offered a good yarding of sheep to a large attendance of the public. Their entry consisted of all store lambs, good lambs again selling well, but medium and cull sorts being easier than at previous sales. Included in tho offering was an exceptionally good line of woolly ewe lambs which realised tho

satisfactory price of 32s 7(1. They re- 4 port the following prices realised: Fat lambs, 23s 6d; fat wethers, 24s to 26s lOd; good woolly wether lambs, 20s sd; good shorn ditto, 17s 3d, 17s 6d to 19s 3d; medium ditto,-13s sd, 15s to 16s Id; medium woolly ditto, 12s to’ 17s 9d; * medium ewe lambs, 18s Id, 18s 3d, 19s lOd to 20s lOd; small ewe lambs, 30s to 15s Gd; small wether lambs, 9s 9d to * 11s. The Hawke’s Bay Farmers’ Co-op. Association, Ltd., report having offered a good yarding of all classes of sheep and cattle. Station cattle were in keen demand, selling well above vendors’ reserves, other classes of stock selling ou a par with recent sales.
