Doctor Lured Into Captivity And Murdered
HOODLUM’S CONFESSION. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. WILLOW SPRINGS (Missouri), Feb. 3. Robert Kenyon, described by tho police as a hoodlum, led the authorities to the body of Dr. J. B. Davis, and confessed that he lured the physician into captivity, pretending that a sick man on a lonely farm need ed medical attention, and killed him. Kenyon has been taken away to prevent his being lynched by the populace. Dr. Davis was noted for his benevolence. A message yesterday stated that the authorities had disclosed that Dr. J. B. Davis, aged 07, who disappeared a week ago, was kidnapped and held for 5000 dollars’ ransom. The family received a note in the physician’s handwriting stating the ransom demanded. The authorities refused to discuss the case, but it was learned that Dr. Davis’ medicine case was found in a river, causing grave concern as to whether he had been slain.
