FEATURES BY WELL-KNOWN WRITERS. Many regular readers of the New Zealand Railways Magazine will have an impression that the February issue is the best to date. Three of New Zealand’s very gifted women writers are seen at their best in sparkling sketches —Robin Hyde in "Isle of the Glowing Skyi—Stewart Island and a Glass Box”; Mona Tracey in "Railway's End—The Rosslown that is Ross”; Bernice Shackleton in "Rural Vig-
nette or Tho Forgotten Branch Line.” James Cowan carries on "The Thirteenth Clue,” a burlesque mystery story, with a very amusing instalment. In "The Land of a Thousand Golden Beaches ” O. N. Gillespie reminds New Zealanders about tlicir very remarkable good fortune in the possession of so many bathing places by the sea. Ken Alexander in "Custody of the Parent” has a merry skit on the plight of the modem parent at tho hands of surging youth. Humorous illustrations by M. Matthews, Ivcn Alexander and A. >S. iPaterson are well worthy of mention among the sixty pictures.
