Sister of Ramon Navarro Engaged for Dance Role
Personally selected for the role of a dancer, by Miss Moore and Leon Leonidoff, famous music hall impressario, who is staging the musical and dance sequences, Samanicgo, sister of Ramon Navarro, recently joined the cast of “Interlude,” Columbia’s Grace Moore production now iu work with Gary Grant as the leading man. Robert Riskin and Harry Lachman are codirecting. This will be Miss Samaniego’s first appearance on the screen while she has had many offers*to appear in pictures, she has always declined them, preferring to win her way by her own ability, rather than through the influence of her famous brother. Navarro and his sister have just completed a tour of the world. Now that the young senorita has crashed the gate of Hollywood on her own, sho plans to forsako the stage for the screen. Spurning the make-up supplied by Hollywood, the 1000 Cheyenne Indians working in Cecil B. DeMille’s “Tho Plainsman” on their reservation at Birney, Montana, insisted on using their own personally manufactured war (paint for battle scenes. They made it out of coloured clay dug from, the hills.
