And it is just such a task that forms the thematic setting of ‘•Second Wife,” current screen costarring Gertrude Michael and Walter Abel, e, The home that Abel built for his first wife, roomy and comfortable though it • s is, is too lull of her memories to suit n Miss Michael, when Abel brings her • s homo as his new bride. Determined to t make a success of matrimony, and , realizing that in that setting her hue,t band wiil always be unconsciously com,r paring her to her predecessor. Miss e Michael insists on a complete new e home that will reflect her own personalt ity. Abel willingly agrees, but in his elforts to make ins new bride happy, believes, despite her protests, that she r will bo embarrassed by the presence ol & his small sou, whom he accordingly sends to school in Europe. This secui- ' ingly harmless decision brings about the first of a series of emotional couk flicts, us the story unfolds, conflicts which evoke the taut drama of this modern and timely offering. 8 Lee Van Atta plays the role of the boy in the film, and such well known players as Erik Rhodes, Emma Dunn, a Brenda Fowler, George Breakston.
