Placement Service Absolutely Outstanding
HIGH PRAISE FROM VISITOR. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. At the State luncheon to-day Mr. H. J. T. Hyland, assistant-Minister of Agriculture for Victoria, reply in to Mr. Savage’s welcome, said what had impressed him most in New Zealaud was the manner in whihe tho Government was tackling the problem of unemployment. “Your placement service is absolutely outstanding,” Mr. Hyland said. “You are tackling the problem of getting men back to work in an admirable way. I want to say that the system is absolutely marvellous. There is no talk. There is no thought of charity. The sole aim is to get jobs for idle men. Men are spoken to as men. That is one thing Australia can well take notice of. It would be a wonderful thing if Australia would adopt the same system. It is one thing 1 cau take back to Victoria as an outstanding New Zealand achievement. I compliment the Government and tlie placement officers on the wonderful job they lire doing,.’*
