Feilding and District
stressed the need for attention to be given to length in regard to these ani mals. Taraworths and Berkshires. That the Tamworth and Berkshire pig classes had been well up in both classes was the comment of Mr. R. Chilcott, of Frankton Junction, adjudicator in thees sections. Outstanding quality had been to the fore in the champion Berkshire boar, while in both the aged Tamworth boar and sow classes there had been strong competition in a keen entry. The young pig section of under four months had not come up to the judge's expectations in either numbers or quality in both breeds. Honey. Discussing the honey exhibits, the judge, Mr. Dodson, Government Apiary Department, said that the unfavourable season was definitely reflected in the exhibits and he foreshadowed a scarcity of the produce. Although the pastures had been available for the bees weather conditions had prevented them from working and as a result he anticipated a Dominion shortage of honey. The entries were few in the exhibition, but in point of quality and flavour there was nothing to be desired.
