Air. E. L. Cullen, M.P., leaves Hastings to-day for Wairoa. He will be absent until Saturday. Rev. E. Al. Cowie, vicar of Khandallab, Wellington, and formerly Archdeacon of Waikato, who has been seriously ill, is reported to be progressing favourably.

Scn.-Sergeant G. Sivyer, officcr-in-charge of the Hastings Police Force, accompanied by Mrs. Bivyer, left yesterday morning for Wellington on annual leave.

Air. A. W. AlcNicholl, at odo time well-known in Napier as New Zealand inspector for tho Union Bank of Australia, and now general manager of the bank, is in Napier. Air. McNicholl is at present on a tour of the Dominiou.

Mr. and Airs. W. J. Cottle, of Melbourne, who have been visiting their son, Air. H. L. Cottle, of Hastings, left yesterday morning for Wellington en route home again. Accompanying them on their visit to New Zealand is a daughter of Airs. T. Scully, of Melbourne.

Air. A. L. Willis, postmaster at Rotorua, will leave this week for Dunedin, where he will bo assistant-chief postmaster. The vacancy in Rotorua will bo filled by Air. F. W. Dingwall, at present postmaster at Te Aroha. Air. E. 11. Tyler, chief clerk and accountant at Rotorua, has bceu promoted to the post of assistant accountant at Hamilton.

Tho Bishop of Aotcaroa, the Rt. Rev. F. A. Bennett, will leave to-day on a visit to the Bay of Plenty, Auckland and Rotorua districts. On this tour he will unveil a memorial window in the church at Otamutn to commemorate the fine work done by Rev. Beymour Al. Spencer, tho first, ipissioner iu that district. Later Air. Bennett will visit the northern part of the island to attend a synod of the Alaori clergy and laymen of the Bishopric of Ivaikobe. A visit will also be paid to Wanganui, where Air. Bennett will conduct services in a unique Maori church.

Aliss Beth Chadwick, Wetukura, is visiting Wellington. Airs. P. G. Hutchinson, who has been the guest of her sister, Mrs. E. A. King. Whetukura, has returned to Welling ton, where she will be the guest of hci mother, Airs. Zohrab. Mrs. Ilutchinsot intends to remain in New Zealand foi some months before returning to W t consin.
