Evening Wedding in Napier

McCUTCHE ON—MAXWELL. Cannas, hydrangeas and trails of domatis made a efiarming decoration in St. Augustine's Church, Napier, recently for the evening wedding of Winifred, daughter of Airs. Al. Maxwell and thQ i late Air. A. E. Alaxweli (late ot Napier), to Reginald, son of the Rev. and Airs. E. A. AlcCutclieon, of Rotorua, late of Napier district, the bridegroom’s father performing tho ceremony. Air. Ernest Jamieson presided at the organ and during tho servico the hymn “The Voice That Breathed O’er Eden” was sung. Tho brido was escorted by hor brother, Air. E. A. S. Alaxweli, Wellington, who gave her away. She wore i gown of ivory satin cut on classical lines and gracefully trained. The skirt was cut away to the ankles in front, revealing the satin shoes. The bodico was cut with a high neckline, V shaped in front, and had a simple fagotted cowl yoke. Whito satin buttons fastened the back of the bodice, and tho full bishop sleeves. Handmade satin flowers clasped tho belt at the waistline. Tho tulle veil, lent by a , friend, was arranged from a halo of pleated tulle and held in position by a wreath of orange blossom. Completing tho ensemble was a lovely sheaf of 1 white gladioli and tiny mauve flowers to which a silver “good luck” horseshoe (the gift, of tho best man) was hung by a satin ribbon. The bridesmaids were the Misses Ley i Howard, of Nelson (chief), and Aiino Buckley. They were frocked alike in Alarina blue georgette fashioned with long full gored skirts inset with deep godots of pleated georgette. The bodices were cut with a high neckline and finished with Peter Pan collars of silver lame and full bishop sleeves. Diamcnte buttons trimmed the bodices from neck to waist in front and folded belts of georgette were clasped at the back with silver crescent shaped buckles. Each wore a halo of silver lame on her hair and carried a bouquet of apricot-tintcd flowers. Two flower girls, Doree Alaxweli and Jean Allen, nieces of tho bride, were frocked alike in apricot ligured organdie made with long, full skirts, Vshaped bodices and puff sleeves finished with a frill, frills also trimming tho neckline. Sashes of apricot ribbon were worn and a matching hair ribbon tied in a bow. Each carried a basket of pastel-tinted flowers.

Tho duties of best man were entrusted to Air. E. S. Anderson, Tnumarunui (cousin of the bridegroom) and those of groomsman to Mr. L. Hawke. Alessrs. J. Alaxweli and V, Clareburt carried out the duties of ushers.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the Foresters’ Hall. All the usual toasts were honoured at tho suppor. Table decorations were artistically done in apricot and green tonings. Suspended above tho bridal couple was a handsome wedding bell and in front of them was placed the three-tiered cake iced by a friend and decorated with silver favours. Airs. Alaxweli (mother of the bride) received in a model frock of beige lace cut on long lines and having a red spray on the shoulder. A beigebrown liat was worn and she carried a bouquet of red flowers arranged with fine fern.

Airs. AtcCutcheon (mother of the bridegroom) was gowned in grey silk marocain worn with a black silk coat, black hat with pink and mauve relief; she carried a bouquet to tone.

The - honeymoon was spent in a motor tour of the North Island and Airs. R. AlcCutcheon travelled in a grey costume with lighter striae worn with jumper blouse of white organdie embroidered in Ted and brown. Her brown, straw hat was finished with an eye veil and accessories. Gauntlet gloves, bag and shoes were in python skin. The handsome, bouquots were the gift of and made by Airs. O. A. Ander-
