Surprise Picture and Supper Party

TO MARK A COMING-OF-AGE. A happy function which took the form of a surprise picture and supper parly was held on Friday evening to celebrate the coming-of-age of Miss Betty Marjorie Boag, elder daughter of Mrs. C. A. L. Boag, of Rainforth street. After attending the pictures the guests were received at the residence by Mrs. Boag and entertained at a jolly supper party. Mrs. Boag wore a floral silk frock in gold and brown tonings. She was assisted by Mrs. G. Glcndinning who wore black georgette, and Mrs. J. Davidson, who chose a frock of figured erepo de chine in shades of terracotta. The guest of honour was attired in a charming frock of lido blue silk marocain, Miss Linden Boag wearing rose and brown floral silk. Blue hydrangeas and gold mont bretias predominated in the artistic decoration of the rooms and tho supper table was gay with crystal vases of sweet peas in delicate shades of pink and blue. Streamers and caps in various colours added to the festive appearance. The handsome birthday cake was ice-blue in colour with a central device and gold key appropriate to tho occasion. After tho good things had been enjoyed Mr. Alan Newlands, in a happy speech, extended the good wishes of her friends to Miss Boag, offering her congratulations on having attained her majority, arid presented her with the traditional goxd key which had been autographed by the following: Misses L. Boag, F. Honore, P. Newlands, J. Davidson, J. Newlands, P. Burgess, Messrs. A. Newlands, M. Davidson, T. Moore, K. Davidson, R. Johnston, D. Spring, A. Cox and J. Young.

In the absence of her brother Miss Boag returned thauks for tho good wishes that had been extended to her. Dancing, music aud ping pong oceu pied tho rest of the evening which terminated with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.”
