Inquiry Into Forced Landing Adjourned

PILOT UNABLE TO BE PRESENT. Per Press Association. WANGANUI, Last Night. An inquiry was opened at Wanganui yesterday into the recent forced landing in the Kaimanawa ranges of the Moth ’plane piloted by Wilson Potaka, who was accompanied by a passenger. The pilot was unable to be present but a roport on the flight and the forced landing was received from him. As the inquiry could not proceed without him, it was decided to adjourn the meeting after the reports had been tabled and several theories advanced as to the cause of the forced landing had been discussed. The action of tho instructor in making a statement to the Press in which he advanced a theory regarding the cause of the forced landing, was criticised by the president of the Federated Clubs, Mr. A. S. Borgcss, who expressed the opinion that it constituted a grave breach of discipline.
