Two Killed in ’Plane Crash
TRAGEDY AT MELBOURNE AERODROME United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Sunday, 9.50 p.m. MELBOURNE, Jan. 31. An aeroplane crashed in the vicinity of Essendon aerodrome yesterday afternoon. Frederick Ridgeway, aged 30, and lan McKenzie, aged 25, were both killed. The machine was smashed. Ridgeway was an aviation engineer and McKenzie a solicitor. Both were licensed pilots. Their machine went into a spin at 1000 feet. McKenzie was a competitor in the recent Adelaide Centenary race.
