TARANAKI RIDING ENGAGEMENTS W. J. Broughton will be at the Taranaki meeting this week and he has been engaged to ride Cardsharper, Eagle’s Eye, Bantry, Haut Monde or Taitoru, Refresher and Cloudy Bay. JOCKEYS BEAT TRAINERS An interesting cricket match was played on the Gonville Domain (Wanganui) on Friday between teams representing tho jockeys and the trainers who were in Wanganui for the summer meeting of the Wanganui .Jockey Club. Tho jockeys’ team, captained by W. J. Broughton, scored a narrow win over the trainers, whose captain was W. Pine. Keen interest was taken by a fairly large number of spectators, and the teams were entertained at afternoon tea by the president and stewards of the Wanganui Jockey Club. W. J. Broughton knocked up 72 in the second innings. EGMONT SUMMER MEETING NOMINATIONS TO-NIGHT Owners and trainers are reminded that nominations for all races at the Egmont summer meeting, to be held on Thursday and Saturday, February 11 and 13, are due to close with the secretary (Mr. A.
