COMPARISON WITH AUSTRALIA “I might be inclined to be a little biased, but after seeing the newspapers in Australia, I would like to compliment the Press in New Zealand,” de dared Mr. H. M. Christie, M.P., who returned from Sydney yesterday by the Awatea. Mr. Christie’s main impression was that the newspapers in Australia were striving after the sensational news all the time and gave only meagre displays of cabled news. The standard, he considered, was much be low that in the Dominion. Mr. Christie was struck also with the atmosphere of American hustlo and bustle that pervaded the city streets. “American methods aro in vogue everywhere,” he remarked.
