Mrs B. H. Rhodes, of Woodville, is visiting Wellington. Mrs B. J. Jacobs and her daughters have returned to Palmerston North after holidaying at Eastbourne. Mr and Mrs B. Levy and their son will leave Feilding to-day to take up their residence in Wellington. After a holiday spent in the south, Mrs G. G. Priest and her sons have returned to Palmerston North. Mrs W. F. Greenbank has arrived in Palmerston North and taken up her residence in Featherstone street. Mrs C. Louisson, North street, leaves to-day to spend a holiday at her beach house at Paekarkariki. Misses Doris and Eileen Young, of Feilding, have returned home after a motor trip to Tauranga. Mr and Mrs J. S. Tingey and Miss Hilda Tingey, of Feilding, have returned home after spending several weeks’ holiday touring the North Island. • ________ Mrs. D. P. Buchanan, “Mayfield,’** Feilding, is on a visit to Nelson and is staying with her sister, Mrs. Tosswill. Miss P. Coote, of Stoke, Nelson, who has been paying a round of visits in this district, is now the guest of Miss Phillipa Broad, of Feilding. Mrs J. A. Chapman, Stanley avenue, and her two daughters, who have been on an extensive holiday in North Auckland and the Waikato, have returned to Palmerston North. During the Pipe Band contest at the Showgrounds last Saturday, an exhibition of Highland dancing was given on the platform as an interlude between the events. The performers were pupils of Miss Jean Scott. Mrs S. Bolton “Oete,” Pahiatua, her son, Mr F. S. H. Bolton and the Misses D. and N. Bolton, granddaughters, who have been on a holiday visit to Adelaide, to attend the Centenary celebrations, returned to the Dominion yesterday. Mr St. John Hindmarsh, of Napier, a nephew, was also in the party. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Bailey, “Kaingara,” Feilding, have as their guests for a few days Miss Edith Litffle, of Marton, and Miss Valerie and Mr. Brian Harding, “Mount Vernon,” Waipukurau. Mr. Alan Palairet, of Stratford, is also a guest at Kaingara, where he is spending a fortnight’s holiday. Many friends in this district will regret to learn of the death of Miss Gertrude Blanche Beswick which occurred on Thursday last at St. Mary’s School, Stratford. The late Miss Beswick was associated with Miss D. Wilson in a private school in Palmerston North before they removed to Stratford to take over St. Mary’s. She had been ailing for some years.
