Proud Scotswoman
Speaking in a broad Scots accent, 'a woman of attractive appearance, who refused to give her name, told the Bristol magistrates recently that she had walked most of the way from Ed in* burgh. She wa« accused of wandering, and she stated she would rather starve than accept money from tho poor box. All she would tell tho Court about herself was that her mother and father had died suddenly wdthin a few days, aud that she was still suffering from the shock. After refusing to enter an institution to receive treatment for her blistered feet, she agreed to see a probation officer with a view to getting employment.
