PERSONALITIES

The many friends of Mr. Grant Sim, public accountant, will regret to learn that he is seriously indisposed. Mr. and Mrs. P. Hanlon, formerly of Palmerston North and now of Wellington, are visiting the city for a few days. Visitors to Wanganui for the races yesterday included Mr C. Louisson, president of the Manawatu Racing Club and Mrs Louisson, Mr Louisson being a guest at the luncheon tendered by the stewards to His Excellency, the Gevernor-Gcneral, Lord Galway. A Timaru message states that Mr L. Glover, president of the New Zealand Alliance of Labour, who was nominated to represent the workers at the Geneva labour conference, has decided to withdraw his nomination in view of the movement for the reorganisation of the industrial forces of the Dominion.
