Sanhedrin and Mister Quex wero best backed in the Petre Hack Handicap, but Imposture and Collodion returned the dividends. Mister Quex and Rustem led Collodion and Sanhedrin out from the tapes, but Rustem and Sanhedrin struck trouble at the half-mile and All Spirit ran to the front to lead Collodion across the top from Mister Quex, Imposture and Sanhedrin. Imposture had run into second place at the straight entrance and wheh straightened up the Posterity filly proved too good for the opposition, winning by a good length from Collodion, who beat All Spirit by a head for second place. Sanhedrin finished fast into fourth place, well clear of Rustem and Mister Quex.
