Feilding Show
Tho £SOO Manawatu Jersey Oaks Competition is to be finalised at the 33rd annual Feilding Show which takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday next, and for which 23 pedigree Jerseys will come forward for tho final judging. These animals are the finalists from approximately 150 entrants, and have passed the necessary production tests to bring them to this stage in the Oaks competition.
There now remains the judging for type, and this will be carried out by three competent Jersey judges next Tuesday morning. Tho animal that gains the highest points* for production and type combined, will bo adjudged the winner, and her owner will receive the first prize of £250. A further £250 will be allocated between the next best placed animals in order of merit. This is a competition that has been in operation for the past 18 months, and it will bo well worth a visit to the Show to view the valuable prize-winning animals. Other Jersey classes are excellently supported, and the whole Show points to being one of the best ever held in tho history of the association.
