Lad’s Narrow Escape From Drowning
INCIDENT AT LAKE TAUPO (Special to “Times.”) NAPIER, Jan. 27. A narrow escapd"7rbm drowning was experienced at the week-end bv the eight-year-old son of Mr H. H. Wylie of Napier, secretary-manager of tho Hflwke’s Bay Electric Power Board. The boy was playing in tho still water near the lake outlet and suddenly got.out of his depth. His plight was noticed by people on tho bank, and a Maori lad named Rakei brought him to the shore.
The lad soon recovered after artificial respiration had been applied and appeared to be little the worse for bis experience
