HUNTERVILLE SALE Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on tho Hunterville sale as under: A good yarding of sheep comprising lambs and breeding ewes was submitted at the above fixture and we report a keen sale for several lines of hill ewes, lambs of all classes meeting with a ready sale. One outstanding line of aged marked 5-year ewes sold by us on account of Mr. A. Sutherland, Mangahoe, Hunterville, sold from 30s to 31s, these being a lino of big-framed, heavy-boned ewes and classed as an ideal ewe for the breeding of fat lambs. Other hill ewes sold from 265, 27s 9d to 2Ss Cd. Lambs, shorn wether lambs, 16s, 17s 4d, 17s 9d, ISs 6d; small wether lambs, 10s, 11s 6d, 11s 9d to 13s 3d.

WOODVTLLE SALE Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Woodville sale as under: A large yarding comprising some 5500 sheep with a good yarding of 200 head of cattle were submitted to a very large attendance of the public at the above fixture. The entry of sheep was comprised principally of annual drafts of local farmers' lines of lambs which were admitted by all to be an outstanding lot for condition, size and breeding and certainly did credit to the respec tive vendors. {Several lines of fullmouth breeding ewes were also included iu our offering and for these competition was also keen and we report a total clearance in all sections for everything submitted. A nice line of Hereford and P.A. steers was offered on account of Mr. C. C. Tolley, of Hukanui, and these realised the good figure of £8 14s. Three pens of choice fat Hereford and P.A. cows on account of the same vendor realised £7 12s 6d, £7 103 to £B. Some of our main sales in the sheep section were as under:—Account Mr. T. Romney lambs, small, 12s 3d, 9 woolly Romney ewo iambs 17s, 53 small b.f. lambs (dipped) 16s Cd, 52 Romney m.s. lambs 14s Cd, 10 Romney c-we lambs 19s, 100 rape b.f. lambs 18s Cd, S S.D. 2-th. ewes 25s 2d, C weaner pigs 13s, 3 ditto ISs Od, 4 porkers 22s to 22s fid, one fat Jersey heifer £3 15s, 2 dairy cows in profit £4 each, store Jersey cows £2 4s, one weaner Jersey heifer 355. The Hawke’s Bay Farmers’ Co-op. Association, Ltd., report offering a good yarding of sheep, comprising mostly lambs, and a fair yarding of fat cattle at the Norsewood sale. All classes of 6tock met the market at prices on a par with recent rates. They quote sales made as follows: Fat ewes, 18s 6d to £1 Is; rape lambs, 17s 7d, 18s to 19s 6d;

wether lambs, 15s 6d, 16s to 18s; ewe lambs, £1 Is 3d, £1 2s to £1 Cs; small ewe lambs, 15s 3d to 19s 9d; small wether lambs, 10s 9d to I2s 3d; fat dairy cows, £4, £4 ss, £4 lGs to £5 123 Cd; weaner pigs, 14s, 15s 6d to 17s.

Messrs. Williams and Kettle, Ltd., report having offered at Norsewood a good yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs to a good attendance of the public. Lambs again sold well, maintaining late market rates. They quote as follow’s:— Sheep: Sixty fat ewes, 18s 3d; fai lambs, 21s 3d; 6 woolly ewe lambs (good), 32s 3d; 55 shorn ewe lambs, JBs Sd; 36 small ewe lambs, 16s Id; small wether lambs, 10s Id to 13s Id; small b.t'. lambs, 10s 6d. . Cattle: Fat Jersey bullocks, £7; fat Jersey cows, £3 Us to £4; store cows (good), £3 6s; potter bulls, £2 7s 6d. Pigs: Weaner pigs, 10s to 15s 6d; porkers, 245.
