Rush to Join Coronation Contingent
MINISTER EXPLAINS POSITIO!
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. There has been a remarkable response by returned soldiers to tho Government's announcement of its decision to send a military contingent to the Coronation, the Alinister of Defence, Hon. F. Jones, said to-day. Judging from the great number of applications he had received already from returned soldiers for inclusion in the contingent, it would appear that many of those desirous of being selected were under the impression that they should make application to the Alinister of Defence. This, however, was not the case. Returned soldiers were required to make application to the nearest branch of the Returned Soldiers' Association which had supplies of application forms and regulations. Members of the Territorial forces whether returned soldiers or not, were required to make application through the respective units.
