From Our Own Correspondent. Tennis Tourney. In spite of indifferent weather conditions the tennis tournament held on Anniversary Day was quite ejoyable. There was a fair attendance and play' extended from mid-day until evening-. Miss Joyce Ebbett was the successful lady competitor. Personal. Mr Peter Beech met with a painful accident on Thursday evening when on his way home from the hayfield late in the evening. He had the misfortune to rick his ankle very severely, causing an injury which will neccessitatd resting for the next fortnight. Miss E. Sowry was a week-end visitor to Palmerston North. K. V. McFadden paid a flying visit 1 the district during the week. She is * .tr way to Blenheim from the North.
As anticipated the Dannevirke Show to be held February 9 and 10 with the ram fair on the 11th is expected to be a record. The entries are coming in splendidly, breeders and fanners generally realising that it is worth their while to visit the Dannevirke Show. The Kennel Club section is very popular this year. Arrangements are being made to accommodate an extra number of visitors to Dannevirke. All those interested are reminded that entries definitely must be in. by Friday next 29th at S p.m. Send for all de tails and schedules to H. S. M. Quigley, Box 38, Dannevirke. A cordial invitation is extended to all to come to Dannevirke and enjoy one of the most progressive shows in New Zealand, two days and a carnival each night.
