Top Prices of Season For Wanstead Lambs
BRIGHT MARKET AT WAIPUKURAU (Special to “Times.”) WAIPUKURAU, Jan. 26. Another bright market prevailed for store lambs at Waipukurau today. when a yarding of 9,000 wa& offered. Late values were fully maintained, with the market steady to firm and showing very little change. Quality lines in forward order met with active competition. An exceptional entry of black-faced lambs on account of Mr H. Parsons topped the Hawke’s Bay market for the season by realising 22/11. Good forward rape lambs brought to 21/6. Shorn entries appeared to meet with a quieter sale, with the values possibly showing an easing tendency. A particularly good shown entry from Porangahau brought 18/7, being the top line in the offering. Small-grown lines off hard country made particularly good sales; tha quality was a slight improvement cn Into sales. Fat and forward wethers in particularly good order brought to 25/7. The fat-slieep section drew largo entries, with last week’s values well maintained. The cattle entry again was exceptionally *mall, being confined to a few miscellaneous pens.
