Raymond Serenades Sothern With Own Song
An original song, ‘‘Will You?" written by Gene Raymond, will be sung by him in his role of a millionaire playboy in RKO Radio's “Smartest Girl in Town" in which he is featured with Ann Sothern. Although the film is not a musical, the song is introduced in one of the beach scenes, where Raymond signs it, to Miss Sothern with ukelele accompaniment. This is the third picture in which the two players have been teamed and promises to be even more successful than the first two. The action revolves around a young millionaire who poses as a commercial model to be near the girl he loves.
Her photograph in a magazine advertisement won pretty Priscilla Lawson her Paramount contract. The actress, who gets a featured part in Paramount’s “O'Riley's Luck," used to be a New York photographic model.
Charles Ruggles is having a lot of fun telling people the title of his next Paramount picture. It's “Mind Your Own Business" and when anyone asks the famous comedian what he is scheduled to do next, he answers just that and then lets them figure it out for themselves.
