|ra GUINEAS IN PRIZES ♦ ♦ I SHORT STORY COMPETITIONS ♦ I Times Search tor Literary Ability Following our preliminary announcement concerning SHORT STORY and HISTORICAL SKETCH competitions, we have pleasure in giving further details for the benefit of competitors. The first competition is for a SHORT STORY, length not to exceed approximately 3000 words, the setting of which must be within the Rangitikci, Manawatu or Horowhenua districts. FIRST PRIZE £4/4/-. SECOND PRIZE £2/2/THIRD PRIZE £l/1/The Second Competition is for a Short Sketch of some incident that happened in the early days of the three districts mentioned, length to be not more than 500 words. The incident does not need to have been the experience of the writer. It can be, for instance, something that happened to parents or relatives in the early days. It must be, however, a description of an actual happening.. FIRST PRIZE £l/1/-. For the Next Best Six, Prizes 5 of 7/6 will be paid. « Contributions must be in the hands of the Editor by J February 28, 1937.
