Weston (4 for 12), Baigcnt (2 for 10) and Brady (2 for 20) shared the bowl ing honours. The match will be concluded next Saturday. First Innings Lead for H. L. Young’s Against Y.M.C.A. H. H. Young’s had first use of the wicket against Y.M.C.A. and the total reached 147 before the last man was dismissed. Houghton (34), McKenzie (26), Gardner (22), Childs (20) and Donovan (18) all batted well. The most successful bowler was flornibrook, who took six wickets for 38 runs. Batting only nine men, Y.M.C.A. were dismissed for 120, “Mr. Extras” (30), Lyons (26), Hornibrook (21) and Weir (14) doing best with the bat against the bowling of Fitzpatrick (3 for 36), Houghton (2 for 4) and Hassell (2 for 21). When stumps were drawn for the day H. L. Young's had lost two wickets for uino in their second innings, Hornibrook having secured both at a cost of one run apiece. Combined Services Top Old Boys First Innings Total. The Old Boys- Combined Services game was commenced on the bleakest of the outer area wickets. Batting first, Old Boys were all out for 50, Swindell (15) and Bradley (11) being the only batsmen to reach double figures against the bowling of J. Millar (5 for 28) and W. Millar (5 for 16). Batting four men short, Combined Services scored 55—5 runs ahead. Waldin (23) was the best batsman against the attack by Stewart (5 for 30) and Hearsey (1 for 2). Old Boys did very much better in their second venture at the wickets and at stumps they had 132 runs on for the loss of five wickets. Stewart played an aggressive innings for 57 and others to get amongst the runs were Donovan (32), Dawick (14) and Bradley (11). JUNIOR A GRADE MATCHES Old Boys Lead Combined Services. In the game commenced at the Sportsground, Old Boys, with a firstinnings lead of 64 runs, have established themselves in a fairly strong position against Combined Services, who, batting two men short, were dismissed for the small score of 35. Woodley was the only batsman to get double figures against the relentless attack by WaJdegrave (4 for 10) and Nansett (4 for 21). In reply to Services' first innings effort Old Boys knocked up 99, YVaidegrave (39), Nansett (29) and O'Keefe (14; showing good form with the bat. Coates took four wickets for four, Hansen three for 48 and Woodley two for 24. JUNIOR A Playing United at Terrace End Park, Massey College were dismissed in their first innings for 65, the only batsmen to make a stand being Robinson (24) and Bolton (14). Sutton took four for 20, Ward three for 27 and Fenton two for none. United replied with 152 Say well 71, Ward 19, Hinks 18, Guinness 16, S. Cutler 13. Robinson secured four for 37, Pierce three for 62 and Bowie two for 18. Massey College's second venture at the wickets saw United win by an innings and 15 runs, the Collegians being able to compile only 72—Bolton 2J, Pierce 19.
