£71,059 Totalisator Increase at Trentham

Runaway Victory for Martara in Summer Handicap

The summer meeting of the Wellington Racing Cluh was concluded at Trentham on Saturday in fine and sunny weather with a fresh westerly breeze. There was a large attendance. The track was in good order and the going was fast. The totalisator handled £69,223, as compared with £48,821 on the third day last year. The total for the meeting was £188,825 10s, as against £117,766, the increase being £71,059.

Won by half a head; two lengths. Recollection was fourth. Time, 2.82. The Ngatarawa trained Charade took charge early and stalled off a strong challenge in the straight by Revival.
