The Dannevirke Show
GENERAL ENTRY DAY ON TUESDAY It should hardly be necessary to issue a final reminder that general entries for the Dannevirke A. and P. Association’s annual show on February 9 and 10 close with the secretary, P.O. Box 38, Dannevirke, to-morrow. The classes for pigs, home industries and dairy produce are much on the linos of previous years, and should attract big entries, especially in the section devoted to pigs, a class of stock in which the interests of producers is steadily extending. Held in conjunction with tho A. and P. Association’s show is the annual dog exhibition, always a strong feature of this popular autumn fixture, and on this occasion entries are expected to come -from all parts of New Zealand, as-one of the judges who will officiate, Captain A. R. Hughes, F.R.G.S., of Ceylon, a recognised authority, has not previously acted in such capacity in the Dominion. Dog owners should therefore welcome the opportunity of getting an outsido opinion. Captain Hughes Will judge all breeds with the exception of Samoycds, Alsatians, Collies, Australian terriers and pugs, the awards for which will be made by Mr. A. T. Bedinglield. of the Manawatu. Those who have not received schedules at this late date may still obtain any information required on application to the secretary, and there is provision for the acceptance of late entries should they miss the earlier
stipulated time. The schedule throughout has been very liberally endowed with prize money, and if anticipations are realised the 1937 show next mo.nth should be one of the best yet held under the auspices of the association.
