Good Entries and Steady Market at Addington

Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. There were good entries at to-day’s Addington market and a steady «:aie. Store lambs; About 6000 were penned and there M-as a keen sale for medium rape and ewe lambs, best wether lambs being a shade steadier. Ewe lambs made to 29s 6d and best wether to 25s 2d. Fat iambs: Two thousand four hundred were penned. The quality was indifferent but for good export lambs full schedule rates of up to 9d were paid. Best lambs made from 30s, 345, good 28s, 29s Gd, and medium 255, 27s Gd. Fat sheep: A large entry. Wethers medium to good 265, 28s, ordinary down to 21s, best ewes 245, 295, medium 225, 23s 6d, ordinary 19s, 21s. Fat cattle: 470 were penned including some prime lines of young cattle. The market was slightly easier than a week ago. Best beef made from 32s to 35s lOOlbs., good 295, 31s, and ordinary down to 265; extra prime heavy steers to £ls 2s 6d, prime heavy £l2, £l4, prime medium weight £ll ss, £l2 10s, ordinary steers £9, £lO 15s; extra prime heifers to £ll 17s 6d, prime £9, £lO, medium £6, £8 os; extra prime cows to £ll 2s 6d, prime £7, £8 10s, medium £5, £6 15s. Pigs: A normal entry and little change in values. About 200 were bought for export. Porkers 34s 6d, 49s 6d, average per lb., 6d to 6£d; baconers, 49s 6d, £3 17s 6d, average price per lb., s§d to 6d.
